CoverCompare SA ("we", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who we are
CoverCompare SA is an independent car insurance comparison service operating in South Africa. We do not sell insurance policies — we connect consumers with licensed Financial Services Providers (FSPs).
2. What information we collect
- Identity & contact details: name, email, mobile number
- Vehicle details: make, model, year
- Risk details: postal code, age range, where the vehicle is parked overnight
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited (via standard analytics cookies)
3. How we use your information
- To match you with suitable insurance partners and request quotes on your behalf
- To contact you about your quote via email, phone or WhatsApp
- To improve our website and content
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations
4. Who we share it with
We share your quote details only with the licensed insurers and authorised brokers you've asked us to compare. We never sell your data to third parties for unrelated marketing.
5. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Object to processing or withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za)

6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the site and analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use it. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.
7. Data retention
We keep quote enquiries for up to 24 months so we can follow up on renewals, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
